Reports say some armed pirates have attacked the Nigerian Marine Police Armoury in Calabar, Cross River state, Monday, June 15, and have seized an intimidating cache of weapons.
Premium Times reports with reference to police sources, that the attackers struck at the marine base located along Marina road, Calabar, and took away two gun boats and other weapons after operating unchallenged for nearly two hours.
An anonymous source revealed that at least one police officer and a private security man were killed, while another witness disclosed that two officers were killed during the incident.
